Founder, Psychotherapist,
MSW, RSW, Doctoral StudentMonique is the founder of Uplift and a highly skilled psychotherapist with extensive experience in mental health and social justice advocacy. With a background in both counselling and upper-level leadership roles, Monique has dedicated her career to advancing mental health accessibility and supporting individuals through complex challenges. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in counselling, building on her strong foundation in trauma work, mental health, domestic violence, and life transitions. Monique has earned numerous awards for her contributions to the social work profession and continues to apply client-centered, evidence-based practices to help clients achieve meaningful change and personal growth. Monique is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Mihaela Slabé (she/her)
Nutritional Consultant, Counsellor,
MSW, RSW, CHNCMihaela is a highly skilled Registered Social Worker with specialized expertise in neurodivergent support, trauma-focused therapy, mental health counselling, and ADHD support. With an extensive background in arts therapies and disability services, Mihaela combines her gained experience with a holistic approach to provide comprehensive, personalized care. As a Certified Holistic Nutrition Consultant (CHNC), she integrates nutritional guidance with therapeutic practices to support optimal mental and physical well-being. Mihaela is deeply committed to empowering individuals through life transitions, utilizing evidence-based, client-centered approaches to foster healing, resilience, and lasting personal growth.

Harold Pliszka (he/him)
Mental Health Counsellor
MSW, RSWHarold is a Registered Social Worker and mental health therapist who believes every person deserves to be met with dignity, compassion, and respect. In addition to his consulting practice, and social work career in nonprofit and mental health leadership, Harold is passionate about collaborating with clients to work through their trauma in ways that help people move forward with their lives.
His experiences and interests include matters pertaining to domestic and intimate partner violence, grief and loss, palliative and hospice care, addictions, and the ongoing impacts of systems of oppression.

Elsa Medina (she/her)
MEd., Curriculum & Instruction Clinical Counselling Graduate, Student
Elsa is a dedicated Curriculum Enhancement Teacher with Vancouver School Board and skilled emerging psychotherapist focused on anti-oppression and eco-identity development. With a background in district-level mentorship, outdoor education advocacy, and graduate research on decolonizing pedagogy.
Elsa has committed her career to fostering inclusive learning, identity exploration, and collective liberation for educators and individuals alike.
Currently interning under clinical supervision at Uplift Next Level Counselling while pursuing clinical certification, she builds on strengths in solution-focused counselling, systems thinking, cultural humility, and client-paced healing.
Elsa applies client-centered practices to support those feeling stuck or distressed through life's transitions, trauma, and growth journeys.
Through her multifaceted work, she remains devoted to compassionate, transformative care in affirming, inclusive spaces.
